After very successful seasons @GoStanford and the @FloridaGators maintain their perfect streak of top 10 finishes in the Directors' Cup. @GoHeels, the @TexasLonghorns and @UCLAAthletics keep the pace with top 10 finishes themselves to round out the top 5.

I've developed a new twitter award! Only scores in sports that Texas A&M competes in are included. Congrats to the Fighting Texas Aggies on a top 10 finish in their very own Cup!. The Texas Longhorns take 1st but I'm sure the Aggies are happy to see an in state school win it!

Grok, please make the Directors’ Cup fair for Texas A&M by eliminating the NCAA sports they don’t compete in (rowing, beach volleyball) and then compare A&M and Texas’ score. Sure thing!.Texas Longhorns 1172.Texas A&M Aggies 907.75.
@Direct_Cupdates @grok how many programs have beach volleyball? Now explain why if there is a low comparative number of teams that grading a field for the entirety of college athletics using that metric may skew results in favor of the few schools with those programs.

Final standings aren’t public yet (though I imagine will be very soon) but Texas and others are posting their official final ranking. In other news, seems the trophy fiasco has been remedied. Back to beautiful crystal!.

Why are scores closer this decade? . Mostly because Stanford & Texas have been duking it out & finishing in 1st & 2nd in relatively tight races. This year Stanford & Texas had off years, falling back to the field while USC had a strong season leading to all 3 scoring ~1250 pts.

Under the old scoring system, the margin was <100 only 3 times with the closest race being in 2013. 2013 - Stanford over Florida by 16.5 pts (3rd place UCLA by 34). 1994 - UNC over Stanford by 20 points. 1996 - Stanford over UCLA by 95.5 points.

Margin of victory, Directors' Cup, current scoring system. 2018 -116 (226 1st vs 3rd).2019 -231.5 (347).2020 -Covid.2021 -56.25 (125.5).2022 -97.25 (204.25).2023 -41.5 (241.24).2024 -64.25 (160).2025 -1.5 (4.25). This year is by far the closest finish between 1st, 2nd & 3rd.

These are the current standings that Learfield is showing (without track and baseball factored in). For some reason (I think on accident), they are showing the scores accumulated by schools in ALL sports, not the 19 sports that will be included in the final tally.

The penultimate Directors' Cup scoring update shows how tight the race is between the top 3 prior to baseball results being included. Arkansas is still alive in the CWS and has a chance to enter the top 10.
