With roster sizes trending ⬇️, managing workload is more important than ever. Fewer arms = more importance on each guy. Tracking ACWR w/@DrivelinePulse helps to avoid overtraining/under training & allows us to stay healthy, and available. ⚠️Early Fall & Early Spring most crucial.

Tate Hess isn’t just a righty with solid stuff. With his new arm slot, and continued development on his tunneling he’s a matchup problem—especially vs LHH. The revamped arsenal gives real upside moving forward. 📈 Buy stock now. #TransferPortal #PitchDesign #D1Baseball

This new shape: better ⬆️⬇️ separation and improved tunneling off his FB. He hasn’t fully reaped the benefits yet — there’s still a learning curve as he works to elevate more consistently and move away from living down in the zone. Once he does, the tunneling potential jumps

After March? Different story. He raised his arm slot slightly, which unlocked a true top-to-bottom curveball. It gave him a distinct shape difference from the slider and changeup—and it shows in the data.👇.🟢ERA: 3.60.🟢LHH FIP: 3.76.🟢LHH wOBA: .272.🟢K/9: 11.06

From this lower release height Hess struggled to fill a void in his arsenal something with distinct negative IVB. This shape is starting to make comeback in college baseball especially since seeing its effectiveness vs LHH as of recently.

Before the shift (pre-April), Hess struggled to separate his breaking balls. His curveball and slider would often blend, limiting effectiveness—especially vs LHH. Heavy east-west arsenal.👇.To this point:.⭕️ERA: 8.06.⭕️LHH FIP: 9.18.⭕️LHH wOBA: .482.⭕️K/9: 8.42

🧵At first glance, Hess’s season looks solid but not eye-popping. But a deeper dive shows a key turning point—a late-season adjustment that changed everything👇

Niko’s curveball and slider give him some feel for two different breaking ball shapes — but the FB is the meal ticket. If your program needs a low-slot LHP with a unicorn fastball — don’t let this one slip.

Development focus = upside unlock:. 🔧 Add velo (mid-to-upper 80s now) will also help to let his VAA play more flat increasing FB quality. 🔧 Refine changeup shape to kill more IVB.🔧 Shape it into a splitter-style CH like Shōta’s.🔧 Get more comfortable throwing it same-sided

Compare that to Shōta Imanaga’s profile:.✅ Late ride.✅ Arm-side fade.✅ Deceptive slot.✅ Low-to-mid 90s.✅ Lives in the top of the zone with a flat angle.Urquidi doesn’t have the velocity yet — but he has the shape. And he’s still developing
