In this latest publication we showed that the spatial distribution of melanocytic nevi >5mm on the back of adults from a general Australian population was random, as opposed to clustered in the high-risk #Melanoma cohort described by Chousakos in @theJIDJournal

A systematic review led by #UQ's Dr Dilki Jayasinghe examines how researchers count & report moles (nevi) on the skin - and highlights the need for an easily accessible and practical protocol for identifying, counting & reporting moles. Read more below ππ
Did you know having many moles (naevi) is the strongest phenotypic risk factor for #melanoma? Yet, a recent systematic review led by #UQCHSR's Dr @DilkiJayasinghe found major inconsistencies in how naevi are counted across studies! https://t.co/fGzAK2NoI0

The fourth publication out of my PhD is now published. We found that how naevi are identified and reported vary significantly across studies. We are now working towards standardizing this process through a Delphi consensus study with a panel of international experts.
π¨ OUT NOW! π¨ Congratulations Dr @DilkiJayasinghe and team on publishing their systematic review of Nevus Counting and Reporting Methodologies in Contemporary Studies of the General Population" . Read the full manuscript here ππ½ https://t.co/5IsHqGnB46
