Some personal news: I’ve joined @PlasmaFDN to lead the protocol engineering team. Despite the many interesting and exciting projects in the industry, I joined Plasma because I believe in its vision and the potential for a positive, global impact. Here's why:.

Our vision is to be the next generation of global money movement rails; this time, better, cheaper, faster and fundamentally, for everyone. We have just reached $1B in USD₮ liquidity locked on our network. Our public testnet is launching soon, with mainnet beta following next.

We’re building infrastructure and apps specifically for stablecoin payments, featuring zero-fee USD₮ transfers, ultra-fast settlement and custom gas tokens, all while championing the values of permissionlessness, decentralization and scalability.

That’s why I wanted to return to the roots of blockchains and cryptocurrencies: money movement. And there is no company or team more dedicated to global money movement with stablecoins than @PlasmaFDN .

I can’t ask my mom to set up a wallet, bridge USD₮ from a cheap L2 to an L1, send it to a CEX, convert that USD₮ to her local currency, then off-ramp to her bank account. And I haven’t even begun to address the KYC, governmental, and bank policy-related issues that will follow.

Stablecoin payments are not yet seamless, and in many emerging markets, they do not offer a better user experience than the disjointed correspondent banking system many are familiar with.

I often experience frustrating situations, considering how far we have evolved since the advent of the internet. Until stablecoins, money had never truly become internet-native. This is why I believe we have yet to realize Bitcoin's original vision for decentralized payments.

Like many others, this use case of crypto has directly impacted me; I’m an immigrant and regularly have to move money across borders to send money to my family. With traditional financial rails, this process sucks. It is slow, expensive, awfully bureaucratic and difficult.

However, I always felt like the use case of decentralized money was overlooked by the industry. I have long thought that this incredibly powerful use case should be embraced more. Blockchains should be about money; whether it’s moving it, storing it, trading it or earning it.

One of my favourite use cases for crypto is money movement, free of intermediaries, censorship and more. In my opinion, this is ultimately what blockchains, beginning with Bitcoin, were created for.

Lending and borrowing are foundational financial services. Yet for billions, they remain out of reach. @Aave changes this. Today, we’re proud to announce our partnership with the world’s largest liquidity protocol: Aave.

I've followed Peter Thiel for years, especially his work with PayPal and Palantir. He's always ahead of the curve, so seeing him as an early backer of @PlasmaFDN definitely caught my attention. Pair that with the rapid evolution of the stablecoin market, and my conviction has

My bank just refused to transfer fiat to Kraken. They inquired about the purpose and I refused to tell them. I said it’s my money, my business, not theirs. They refused to help. This is an outrage. An economic act of war. What solutions do you propose?.

Don't fret, brother. Crypto is, and has always been, 99% nonsense grifty garbage/scams/jokes, and 1% fundamental global financial system revolution. But this 99/1 is based just on quantity of projects. Considered by market cap, it's more like 75% quality, 25% nonsense.
