Covering the Bears @SportsMockery. Football should be played in the elements. Nothing beats a road win.

The Bears are kinda scaring me - how did they get so competent in just a few weeks?
#Bears are expected to hire Dan Roushar as offensive line coach, per source.

Really good stuff.
Some thoughts after rewatching Bears-Eagles: 1. The 2023 Draft Trade Bowl was fun. Jalen Carter is a good player. Darnell Wright had him in hell. The OL performance looked great live and was more impressive on rewatch. The most dominant unit on the field. A Top-5 unit in 2025.

7. Finally, the coaching in general. I can't say enough. For years, even when the Bears have had a talent advantage, we've wondered how they'll play down to competition or fuck around enough to let a team beat them. Ben & Co.? They're already some of the best in team history.

6. It was interesting how the Bears chose to blitz and play man after going up 24-9. Hurts has always struggled with the blitz, and so Dennis Allen chose to convert a normally "prevent" situation into an attack. Neat idea. Good tackling helped to burn clock.

5. Another week of good decisions and spotty accuracy for Caleb Williams. I was concerned that Fangio's post-snap rotations would test Caleb & the WRs' mid-route adjustment chemistry. It went OK. I'm (very) happy with his growth processing the field. I'm OK to wait on accuracy.

4. Nahshon Wright is an incredible story. He was supposed to be the Bears' outside CB 4 (!!) at the start of the season. And he's playing like a Pro Bowler at minimum. He deserves every penny that comes his way this offseason. I don't see it being in Chicago. But what a find.

3. I don't care what it takes - figure out a way to keep Jaquan Brisker and C.J. Gardner-Johnson on this roster. The two of them talking trash after big plays is INFECTIOUS when coaching support is strong. Brisker waving bye to the fans after Elliott's missed FG was everything.

2. I recall a lot of discontent when Chicago signed D'Andre Swift. I knew he'd be a good player in the right scheme. It just took them a year + a 4 games + a bye week to unlock it. Swift and Kyle Monangai are a fantastic duo. Dan Roushar & Eric Bieniemy deserve their flowers.

The Eagles attempting to stop the Bears running game with the power of DVOA
Per @ASchatzNFL, the Chicago Bears are the worst 8-3 team ever by DVOA (since 1978)

NFC East Champs. NFC North leaders heading to Green Bay next week. Winning season clinched. The one-year turnaround for these Bears is unlike anything we've seen in a long time. Remarkable. That Good-Better-Best video is gonna hit like no other.

Caleb hard count on the road to get Jalen Carter to jump. This is an embarrassment at The Linc.
