Yep now it's happening, @23andMe just filed for bankruptcy and the DNA of 15 million people will be sold to the highest bidder. There's not many actions users can take now, but I'll add some supposed steps you could take to attempt to protect your privacy below:
And here we are 5 years later and I still feel the same way about consumer DNA tests, and apparently the entire board of 23andMe now agrees. Massive yikes incoming.
