As you know I’ve been trying to lose weight recently, I’d got quite porky and at my age that’s not a good thing. I’ve lost 5st 3 pounds (33kg) in 5 months. Tweeting this to encourage others who are trying to shift a bit too. If I can do it at almost 50, anyone can. 👍🏼

I saw Cannon & Ball in pantomime in Hull when I was about 12. I had never laughed so much in my life. That made me dare to dream I could make people laugh for a living. Fast forward 35yrs and I was directing Bobby was in my own tv show. Rock on Bobby, thank you so much. 😢

Terribly saddened to hear of the passing of TV and theatre legend Una Stubbs. She was wonderful in Benidorm as she was in every other role she made her own. A glorious life lived well. ❤️🌴

I always declined interviews (on screen + off) for Benidorm apart from Alison Hammond. Even though she arrived on the day I was looking my fattest & ugliest I didn't care, she is wonderful. (In saying that I have no idea if they used it hahaha)

A couple of years ago I pitched an idea to ITV called Benidorm 82, a PREQUEL to Benidorm, set in 1982, they liked the idea & paid me a lot of £ to write a script. After 'sitting on it' for MANY weeks they said it wasn't diverse enough. No mention of if it was funny or not. 🙃

****ITV were very recently offered a Benidorm compilation show with actors giving interviews about the show while in lockdown. ITV declined it. I guess they really, really don’t like the show! Strange because it was one of their most successful sitcoms ever.*****
