May Jim Lovell rest in peace. A true hero of Apollo 13, but for me, Apollo 8 will always be THE moon mission, the one that not only proved that humans could travel to the Moon but also, and arguably more importantly, made us look at the Earth from a totally different perspective.
We are saddened by the passing of Jim Lovell, commander of Apollo 13 and a four-time spaceflight veteran. Lovell's life and work inspired millions. His courage under pressure helped forge our path to the Moon and beyond—a journey that continues today.
