At some point it seems necessary to admit that if the point of tenure is to provide faculty with the freedom of expression, it has long since stopped serving this purpose in practice, not because tenure protections are gone but because academic culture is moth-eaten by cowardice.

This weekend @BernieSanders continues his Fighting Oligarchy tour, speaking to people in congressional districts narrowly won by Republicans in the 2024 election cycle. Here's the poster I designed for the occasion.
