Congratulations to colleagues from GHFT and GHC - joint winners at tonight’s Clinical Research Network Annual 2023 Awards in the Collaboration in Research category. Ensuring stroke patients along the whole of their pathway can contribute and benefit from research. Huge well done

So thankful that Khoboso chose GHFT as her new home. We may only have her “on loan” but everyday our patients benefit from her journey and the unique perspectives that make her such an outstanding nurse and leader. Read her story and maybe you could help find the next Khoboso?
READ | Frailty Practitioner Khoboso's journey from the Chalbi Desert in Kenya to Gloucestershire was initiated by the kindness of a stranger. Her kindness and compassion continue to inspire those who work alongside her 👉 https://t.co/jPL1JTpnhl

Super impressed with this initiative and never have we needed it more. @CharlotteNHSRN - any chance you could join me and my Vlog this morning so we can spread the word even more widely?
We are proud to have over 100 multi-professional Guardians offering peer support across practice at @gloshospitals Look out for our volunteer Early Career and GloSTaRs Guardians, they are visible in your workplace and are happy to offer peer support. #WellbeingAtWork

We looked into this in 2018 but sadly were unable to attract anyone as they all felt the footfall in and out of the hospital was too small to make it worth their while. However, times are achanging and defo worth another shot. I will ask the staff wellbeing group to investigate!
@jessphillips I think this is a brilliant idea! Love to see this at @gloshospitals @Deborah62655228 if at all possible :)

Thanks Qadar - no mean fete mobilising 300 pizzas! A small gesture that was hugely appreciated by all those I spoke with. If you’re a colleague at GHFT and have suggestions for things (in our gift) that a make difference to you, please let us know

recover and lead as full a life as their disability allows. Thank for your support, however small (or large), pledge it in the knowledge that you have already made a difference to the patients and staff who work in stroke care. the amazing NHS staff who cared for me thereafter.

I was one of the lucky ones in having made a full recovery from a pretty catastrophic stroke thanks to the quick actions of my husband and the amazing NHS staff who cared for me thereafter. However, many, many people are not so fortunate and rely upon stroke services to help them

Under the team name Stroke of Luck, myself and seven colleagues will be competing against 12 other hospital teams from across the South West and using the opportunity raise funds for stroke services for the hospital we all work in.

Having survived a stroke, heart surgery and a broken ankle the only sensible response to such life events was obviously to lead a team into this year's NHS Military Challenge!

Care built in communities, around peoples own homes and, not just for when they’ve crumpled and ended up in hospital but truly preventative care. Thankfully I won’t be needing social care either but I so very nearly might have…. #NeverMissAnOpportunityDeb #SocialCareReform

and I don’t have the answer, but government has the power to generate one. Starting with an overhaul of social care - training, development, pay reform and the professionalisation of care workers to build a sector that people want to join, stay in and feel proud to belong to.

Through no fault of its own, the SW has the worst ambulances handover delays of any region; my system is working unrelentingly to solve this but to no great avail. The problem isn’t the front door of hospitals, it’s the back. It’s a complete lack of flow, with no silver bullet

to all the NHS staff that I came across, to those who invented clot busting drugs but I can’t get one thing out of my head. What if my husband hadn’t been there and my daughter had called for an ambulance and I’d been put in the Cat 2 “stack” ?

and I was winging my way to Oxford for a thrombectomy. From start to finish, the NHS served me with pace, expertise and kindness. Today I’m sat in a cafe (having travelled by bus) reflecting on events. Naturally, I am eternally grateful to my husband for his swift actions,

On Friday I had a bit of a “turn” - lop sided and unable to speak. Having heard me lamenting ambulance delays, my husband bundled me into his car and drove me to A&E. I was taken into resus and 35 minutes later I was in a CT scanner, 30 minutes later a bolus of TPA was on board

Absolutely my favourite event of the year and this year we get to do it twice! 675 people nominated more than 250 individuals or teams in this years staff awards. Such a tough job to whittle it down and huge thanks to my fellow judges. A great excuse for a new dress or two? #J2O
We announced the shortlist for our 2022 Staff Awards today. Our Chief Exec @Deborah62655228 was part of the judging panel and described it as a rewarding and inspiring task. Congratulations to everyone who was nominated & especially those who made the shortlist 💙

Super proud of this work! Deploying digital and artificial intelligence for the benefit of one of our most vulnerable patient groups whilst addressing one of our most wicked issues. What’s not to like? Never worked with such a patient centred digital team. #DataMakingADifference
Well done to @gloshospitals Digital Team - winner of most promising pilot award for predicting long term stays - congrats @SarahHammond71 @JoeGreenHealth @__hutch
