What history is being “erased?” Mississippi seceded from and fought the Union to uphold the institution of slavery. The battle flag is a symbol of that ugly cause and will rightly be removed from the flag that represents all Mississippians.
Just a reminder: Bama’s kicker, Joseph Bulovas, strung Mississippi State along and decided to take a blue shirt (?) from Saban rather than a scholarship offer from Dan Mullen. MSU went with walk-on Jace Christmann and never looked back.
Ole Miss was the
#2
passing team in the country before today. They left with 152 yds (more than 200 yds less than avg.) Can we fans FINALLY say Mississippi State’s DBs are pretty dang good??!??
You wanna know what the difference between Ole Miss and State is this season? Ole Miss played Vandy and Mississippi State played Georgia. That’s it. Both teams are 3-3 against the same remaining SEC teams.
Stone cold lock for the upcoming Mississippi State football season:
Someone will yell "Just run the damn ball!" after Leach goes 4 wide on the first third and short of the New Mexico game.
Just a reminder that while the national sports media was hyperventilating about Tua, another player (Mississippi State's C.J. Morgan) was carted off Scott Field with a season-ending injury.
Prayers to
@AyeItsCeej
for a speedy recovery.
Dear
@HailState
and
@zacselmon
, when you fly the next coach of Mississippi State in for the first time, can you make it so the fans there to great them don’t look like they’re behind a prison fence. Thank you.
According to 247, if Burnside and Daniel Hill sign, Mississippi State’s 2024 class will jump to 24th nationally and leapfrog Ark, UK, and Mizzou. That would be 3 spots behind the next highest ranked SEC team, Ole Miss.
Man, Mississippi State sports is going to be SOOO different next season without Nick Fitzgerald, Teaira McCowan, Q Weatherspoon and Jake Mangum - all fixtures in Starkville for the past four years
Ole Miss fans last year: “If Lane goes to Auburn, let’s just bring Lebby back and be done with it.”
Ole Miss fans tonight: “lolz Cow College hiring our leftover”
PSA: If y'all don't like me tweeting about Mississippi's flag or tweeting support for black athletes in the state, go ahead and hit that unfollow button.
Mike Leach was brought in to innovate on offense. He was also hired to change (or restore) the culture around the program. Sometimes that means good players leave. So be it.

How many college head coaches who wrote flowery tributes to Mike Leach yesterday are working behind the scenes to poach Mississippi State players amid the tragedy?
@BarrettSallee
Tell me you haven't watched Mississippi State play this season without telling me you haven't watched Mississippi State play this season.
I just want to give a shout out to the voice of the Diamond Dawgs,
@jimellismsu
. No one has seen more Mississippi State games than him - the ups, the downs, the heartbreakers. I’m so happy I got to hear his NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP call!

Imagine clowning on a football program who was put in a tough situation because their coach DIED a week before signing day, the AD had left, and other schools were actively trying to poach players. Imagine that.
Mike Wright doesn’t deserve to be treated like this. If I was him I’d be in the Portal Monday.
Hell, even Saban even put in the backups, but Arnett refuses to give Mike Wright playing time.
ESPN's telecast of Alabama-Mississippi State on Nov. 11 delivered 7,031,000 viewers, making it to the most watched cable game of the season and among ESPN's top 10 most-viewed regular season Saturday games during the past 20 seasons...
Barrett Sallee preseason 2021: Mike Leach’s Air Raid doesn’t work in the SEC.
Barrett Sallee preseason 2023: Mike Leach is a legend. There’s no way Mississippi State can replace him.
@BuckeyeEmpire
There’s a guy who looks like Stalions, wearing sunglasses at night, in CMU coaching gear, but with a visitor pass who no one can identify as a CMU staffer.
Michigan fans: “Akshully the LED light should be a 3/32” away from the outside of the frame not the 1/8” shown here.”
Miss State fans 3 weeks ago: “Changes must be made to the offense! This is unacceptable!”
State fans today: “OMG We’re losing all our offensive coaches! This is unacceptable!”
Having to spend the rest of the night reeking of stale beer after losing ANOTHER series to Mississippi State is so sad, I can’t imagine what it feels like.
I can defend the Arnett hiring, however his first mistake and biggest mistake was hiring a conventional power-spread offensive coordinator. There are guys who could run a modernized Air Raid offense, but Arnett said let’s start over.
Hearing reports that the players (5 seniors, including Nick Gibson) who sat the first quarter of the Music City Bowl had skipped the first day of bowl practice.
I have a feeling in the coming months we'll hear horror stories about how poorly the football program was run.
