Thanks to K-9 Officer Indi for locating a fatal hit and run suspect who fled the scene on March 1, 2020. The suspect struck the victim’s vehicle on the corner of Moreland Ave. and Eastland Rd. before Indi tracked the suspect who was hiding in a nearby pipe drain.

: DKPD K-9 Officer D’Jango is still recovering this morning from his 1st surgery at the Blue Pearl Veterinary Hospital in Sandy Springs. He’s expected to undergo a 2nd surgery within the next day or so, as soon as the doctors clear him.

Today, Ricky Hawk, 23, was arrested for the murder of his cousin Frederick Rooks, 34. On January 21, the DeKalb County Police Department investigated Rooks' death after he was found shot on Deep Shoals Circle. Hawk is in the DeKalb County Jail charged with Murder.

D’Jango was injured near his pelvic/lower abdomen area with significant damage to his right rear femur. No significant organs were damaged.
His condition is still very serious, but with each hour that passes, we’re more optimistic about his recovery!

A Yorkie puppy fell into a sewer pipe and by modifying his catch pole, DeKalb Animal Services Officer Harper (with assistance from Fire Station 14) was able to save the puppy unharmed! The owner was ecstatic!

MURDER ARREST: At approximately 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2020, the DeKalb County PD arrested 34-year-old Donald Ash for the murder of Vanessa “Honey” Malone. “Honey” was fatally shot on October 23, 2012 when she entered a friend’s apartment in Stone Mountain. (1/2)
