Next month I will join the Philadelphia Inquirer and serve as Senior Editor managing the NBA and 76ers beat. I’m so excited to team up with @michaelhuang55 and @InqPotosky to lead a storied sports section. We clearly have quite a few storylines to cover this summer.

Sixers rookie VJ Edgecombe (left hip soreness) is out for tonight’s preseason game vs. the Orlando Magic. He participated in shootaround this morning and is considered day to day. Edgecombe is expected to practice next week.

The 76ers announced early Wednesday morning that the guard underwent surgery to repair an ulnar collateral ligament tear in his right thumb on Tuesday at the Hospital for Special Surgery.
