UK support for Ukraine is ironclad, as we stand shoulder to shoulder in our 100 Year Partnership. As FM @andrii_sybiha and I remembered those who have sacrificed their lives for freedom, we also looked forward to a secure and prosperous future for both our nations.

We are appalled by the violence and targeting of civilians in the fall of El Fasher to RSF. At the UN Human Rights Council, I urged for a ceasefire, unrestricted aid, and protection for civilians now. We must show the Sudanese people that they are not forgotten.
Sudan is collapsing under a brutal war. The situation in El Fasher is devastating: summary executions, sexual violence, abductions. At @UN_HRC today, the UK condemned the atrocities on behalf of the Sudan Core Group 🇩🇪 🇮🇪 🇳🇱 🇳🇴 🇬🇧 Statement in full ⬇️ https://t.co/Z1Misb57dT

I am abolishing Police and Crime Commissioners. For over a decade, they have overseen our police forces but have failed to provide the sufficient democratic oversight they were set up to do. A change that will save us millions and see money reinvested into frontline policing.

The government says it will save £100m over this Parliament and less than 20% of voters can name their PCC.

I welcome changes made by this Labour Government today to Police and Crime Commissioners. Not only will there be considerable financial savings, it opens the door for more cooperative working between police and local authorities. This is an important change for Hemel 👇

In Canada for the G7 Foreign Ministers meeting working with our closest partners to tackle some of the world’s greatest challenges, including Ukraine, Sudan, getting aid into Gaza, and economic security. The UK’s foreign policy is delivering for security at home.

Very good news for mortgages. Well done to @RachelReevesMP and the team.
10y gilt dipped below 4.4% for first time in 2025… The 2 & 5 year gilt - both now been below 4% for a month, actually below level when Labour came to power… this is filtering through to 2y & 5y fixed mortgage rates… driven by higher expectation of rate cuts given weaker jobs

I welcome action from this Labour government on Sudan. But there is more still to do. This is forgotten war. The UK must redouble diplomatic efforts. [@politico]

If Europe wants to maintain credibility when invoking international law in Ukraine, Gaza, or elsewhere, it cannot ignore the atrocities happening in Sudan, write @_Will_Brown and @Cinzia_Bianco

El-Fasher in North Darfur is now the epicentre of the world’s greatest humanitarian catastrophe. Europe’s options are limited, but there are still ways to hold the responsible accountable.

Gentoo Penguins in the wild: 🤿 dive to 200m 🐧 travel 30km a day 🏎️ speeds up to 22mph At @london_aquarium? They live in a 2m deep pool. No fresh air. No natural light. Overstimulated by a flow of noisy people. #freethe15

Today, we remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to serve our country and defend our freedom. We will remember them.

Today, the Labour Party pauses to remember all those who have died in service of our country, and expresses gratitude to the brave personnel who continue to serve. We will never forget the sacrifice and service of those who defended our country and fought for our freedom.

There is nothing “reform-esque” about a firm, fair immigration system that isn’t open to abuse. The Labour doors I knock on want that. That’s what we will deliver. Those who disagree continue to enable Reform.
