@johnmarkclifton If your church doesn’t make a big deal of the 4th, shame on them.

Every faithful Christian will, along the way, be accused of being too strict by one crowd and too welcoming by another. Why? Because gospel truth always agitates people’s self-esteem and gospel grace always agitates people’s self-righteousness.

The #SCB19 stance on women, anchored in the slogan that we dare not compromise Scripture by capitulating to culture, is itself an articulation of a form of Christianity that has capitulated to culture. If you’re having trouble seeing that, I may have made my point.

I grew up along the Mississippi Gulf Coast with countless Vietnamese neighbors, refugees from a brutal Communist regime. They are quintessentially American- hardworking and patriotic. The country welcomed them. This is awful, if true.
Exclusive: The Trump administration has decided that Vietnamese migrants who arrived before the establishment of diplomatic ties between the U.S. and Vietnam are subject to standard immigration law—meaning they are all eligible for deportation.

Listening to @TrevinWax at Lifeway. He's giving a great talk but I think he has some problems with Disney's Frozen. @edstetzer

Guess what ... it’s still possible for people of differing viewpoints to work together to solve the problems of today. Always good to see my friend @GovOfCO Hickenlooper!

Gov. Kasich was my pick in the primaries. I can only imagine where we would be today if we had this kind of common sense and willing to unify people leading us in the White House, Senate and House.

Two governors from different parties show us that politicians can work across the aisle on solutions.
