I'm 3 days short of my 1yr anniversary of being #PhDroppedOut and the mental health toll was a substantial reason why. And yet, I don't consider that door fully closed and would, under the right circumstances, give it another crack. Perhaps I should reflect on Proverbs 26:11 ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
These results suggest that getting a PhD causally worsens mental health, or at least receiving psychiatric medicines. The reversal post PhD degree is particularly convincing. But the up trend among the control group is intriguing. The highly educated are in distress.

One of the things I'm most proud of as an Australian is our electoral system & history of world-leading democratic reforms, all the way back to the pre-Federation era. To hear more on this & the future of democratic resilience, listen to the next ep of the #NatSecPod on 23 Oct

Good. As important as the NRL deal is for PNG, it is absurdly slanted in league's favour, to the extent of paying them to crowd out union in the rest of the Pacific. Also, don't forget, football/soccer is the dominant game in much of the Pacific, not either rugby code.
The Albanese government has publicly acknowledged it is open to funding rugby union in the Pacific after a NSW Liberal senator raised concerns about the large discrepancy in money being allocated to rugby league in the region. https://t.co/PIGEmvHxhg

* What values/interests we should protect as part of national security (e.g. democracy, fair go, diversity, freedom). * Any ideas or priorities you think government should focus on. Your submission doesnโt need to be comprehensive, just focus on what matters to you.

When making a submission, we're encouraging people to think about these themes: * What matters most to you when you think about ๐ฆ๐บ security (e.g. safety, resilience, rights, stability, environment, alliances). * The biggest challenges or risks you think ๐ฆ๐บ faces in the future.

This year, @NSC_ANU has been conducting a series of community consultations around ๐ฆ๐บ. To complement that, we welcome public submissions. We want to hear from everyday ๐ฆ๐บ about national security. You donโt need to be an expert โ we just want to know what matters to you. ๐งต

Hard agree. Can't see any reason why RA should've paid a cent. Have some self respect. Plus, it's switching one set of inconsistencies in our 10s for another, given Gordon's extremely patchy kicking. Do I want him to do well? Yes. Are the vibes off? Also yes. There's no quick fix
Yuck. We let Mark go early, chooks didnโt pay anything. Now the womenโs game gets a 25% cut we pay a cellar dweller club for a guy who bailed on union, and is as unproven as other young 10โs. In a month people will be calling for another flyhalf if he isnโt Bernie from minute 1

This week's episode of the #NatSecPod marks the end of a significant chapter for me: my last* interview as host (*probably). After 90 episodes as Managing Editor then Exec. Producer (incl. 35 episodes as host), I'll be passing on the baton when I move to Jakarta ๐ฎ๐ฉ in January.
