Along the beach, despite all the fresh looking ragwort, bees were utilising the last few blooms on the almost expired plants of Vipers Bugloss. #wildflowerhour

Searching with Butterfly Conservation for caterpillar of Scarce Goldenrod Plume today in the Blean, very range restricted. Coleophora Sp, possibly Coleophora virgaureae, Goldenrod case-bearer. A big gang of Crossbills entertained us / frustrated the camera. #moths #birds #kent

Will be interesting to see what people make of the Thamesmead project, probably be overwhelming support. Personally never been there, but these green areas on the Thames are a bit of a rarity, like the Swanscombe site in Kent.

The Government has announced where it wants to build its twelve new towns. Here is my review. Short version: they've done quite a good job.

Coleophora hydrolapathella - Water Dock Case-bearer. The larvae feed from a reddish brown tubular case made entirely of silk on flowers and seeds of Water Dock and recently found on Curled Dock (below). Seen Dungeness, fairly new site for the species. #wildwebswednesday #moths

Breezy afternoon at Cliffe Pools. Spotted at least 3 Shrill Carder (low number for this site), lots of Ivy Bees around. Wall Brown still going strong, but just the one Clouded Yellow seen. Been a dry Summer, don't think I've ever seen water levels so low. #Bees #butterflies
