In tomorrow's #AutumnStatement @Jeremy_Hunt will tell us โ€œthis is the momentโ€ to go for growth. He's not the first. He won't be the last. But is growth delivering for our places? Our new case study analysis of Greater Manchester's growth says not: https://t.co/zLP7eJ5xTO

I notice that some 'inclusive growth' advocates are now starting to talk about 'fair growth'. Perhaps thinking a switch in discourse may result in a new credibility. It won't work! Old piece from me and @DavidB_CLES https://t.co/fkugF3lxZj

Absolutely right that the issue is as much about the absence of intentional progressive approaches to transforming purchasing power @DavidB_CLES than required changes in law, and well-meaning rhetoric needs to be replaced by meaningul collaborative action

With the #Procurement Bill back in Parliament, our @DavidB_CLES argues that while it's necessary, it's not a panacea. Public procurement could do much more if the people charged with spending public ๐Ÿ’ฐ had the time and resources to make it work better for their place ๐Ÿ‘‡

I'm focussed on practical action toward an economy that genuinely works for people, place and planet- #communitywealthbuilding However, it is worth debunking the wrong starting points. Here is me and @DavidB_CLES on the hapless oxymoron #inclusivegrowth

Great day @CLESthinkdo supporting places to think differently about local economies. Moving from picking winners to foundational. From inclusive growth to inclusive economy, from drifting markets to anchoring wealth. @DavidB_CLES @SeanBenstead @RedRachelita @tweetingantonia
