This is really important. The main thing that makes it hard to achieve nature and green in cities isnโt density of buildings or density of people โ it's density of cars. And the more well-designed density of people and buildings you achieve, the fewer cars you need or want.

A Gander resident who makes $150,000 a year pays more into equalization than a Grande Prairie resident who makes $100,000 a year. It is a small percentage of federal spending used by Smith et al to increase regional resentment.
People are going nuts about this but it's true. Alberta doesn't even pay into equalization payments. No province does, people do. Federal taxes apply equally no matter what province you live in.
