Hey everybody, big news! Today's the day: I'm launching my
#GoFundMe
. This will cover my bills while I'm recovering from heart surgery, and make it possible to buy a camper van to get away from Missouri & my abusive family, and begin to transition with hormones.
I was just threatened w/assault at
@kroger
in Louisville because I asked another customer to wear a mask, and she refused.
I reported it to a manager, who found her and talked to her, but refused to do anything more.
His name is Andy, and he does not want Twitter to know that.
"But I can't afford to pay my employees a living wage! I'd go out of business!"
Then go out of business. If you can't afford to pay a living wage & make payroll, you shouldn't be in business anyway. It is not the responsibility of your employees to subsidize your shitty business
@houstonwolf
@DrBeagleman1
We are.
To paraphrase
@IjeomaOluo
:
"It is very hard to survive as a woman in this world, and I remember saying once that if I stopped to feel, really feel, the pain of the oppression I encountered, I would start screaming and I would never, ever stop."
"If I stopped to feel, really feel, the pain of the racism I encountered, I would start screaming and I would never ever stop." -
@IjeomaOluo
, So you want to talk about race
To clarify bc ppl keep asking:
There was an off-duty cop, hired by
@kroger
as security, standing right next to us during this convo.
The law here requires masks to be worn in public. It's also Kroger's store policy. There are signs on the door.
He just didn't care.
I didn't get a pic of the woman who threatened me. But it's all on camera,
@Kroger
has footage. I asked the manager about that footage, too, and he blew me off.
Kroger, this is unacceptable.
Hey
@TigerWoods
a lot of your old fans think it's disgusting that you are playing golf with racist sexual predator
@realDonaldTrump
at the same time you're helping him promote his personally owned golf club in violation of self-dealing norms. Something to think about.
If someone came in topless they'd say, "Come back w/a shirt. We sell shirts here, we do delivery if you don't want to wear one. But you can't come in & you can't buy anything without one. It's the law, see the sign?"
Except in this case, it's the law AND there's a pandemic.
He didn't care that they weren't wearing masks, endangering his employees and customers.
He didn't care that they had threatened to beat up another customer.
I didn't feel safe continuing my shopping with them still in the store. They threatened me & weren't wearing masks.
