After doing permanent nights for nearly 6 years with @NCICNHS's Hospital at Night team, I am moving on to pastures new. I will be starting with the Digital Programmes Team as a Benefits and Change Facilitator mid August. Looking forward to our new EPR with @alcidion 🏥💻👨🏾‍⚕️💊🩺

Today, I'm at the Lead Educator Fourm focusing on Safe Learning Environment Charter, Cultural Awareness and Equality & Diversity. It's great to have regular sessions & updates to best support our students in practice, as well as @NCICNHS staff. Thank PEF team! 😁

All this eases the pressures for Foundation Doctors, which allows them to attend training, theatre, clinics etc without having an impact on patient care whilst enhancing their development. Drs Assistants have a clear scope of practice (3/3).

The Doctors Assistant role is Agenda for Change Band 3. NOT a Physician Associate. They assist the teams by preping ward round documents, making and chasing referrals, ordering bloods (requested by teams). Their clinical skills are limited to venuputure and cannulation. (2/3).

Kathryn, who is a Doctors Assistant on @NCICNHS's Hazel Ward (Surgical Admissions), spent a night shift with me to develop her clinical skills. Her role is dual clinical and admin and helps support the various specialities on the ward. She loves utilising her clinical skills 🩸💉

One for the lads! Did you know that in the UK, only 11% of registered nurses identify as male. It's not often I'm accompanied by male student nurses, but a few weeks back, Louis joined me for a shift to advance his clinical skills🩸💉📟

Finished nightshift this morning for a weeks' annual leave, @thekillers have realised a new single today "Bright Lights" (its brilliant!), we are going to @chesterzoo next week as my daughter will be 2 and we get to spend some family time together @_LauraBell91 😊🎶🦁🦓👨‍👩‍👧❤️.

Year 2 @UocNursing Student @GraceKennedy04, spent her Enrichment Placement with @NCICNHS's Hospital at Night Team. She gained her venepuncture competencies 🩸✅️, seen how the hospital is managed out of hours and we deal with patients from multiple specialities #students 😁

As a Scottish guy, working the nightshift in England when the #Eurocopa2024 #EnglandvsSpain is interesting to say the least 🙃⚽️.
