Which soon takes the enjoyment out of what we do . So I’m looking forward to new challenges expanding both sides of the business . Never say never on the arable farming front as I’m sure it will come right again one day #backbritishfarming

Ive decided to look to shift my focus on to our beef enterprise and my mobile milling business along side with producing animal feed for farmers and smallholders . It’s bittersweet as I enjoy arable farming but for the amount of passion I put into it isn’t reflected economically

Bit of winter ploughing to be getting on with . Jcb making the job comfy as ever . Bittersweet knowing this will be the last time I plough these fields as this autumn I decided not to renew my tenancy for this October . With current market pressures that I can’t see improving .

However I’m not leaving farming or packing up . We will continue with the beef enterprise pushing that on our home farm , rearing sustainable beef aswell as our contracting operations mainly our mobile milling and more excitingly starting our new venture

Think labour might be worried , seems a well organised event is a no go but if you want to free Palestine in a angry fashion that’s okay , good luck to all going today . Let’s hope this shambles of a budget isn’t too painful

Absolutely outrageous. Sometimes it seems like we have protests in Westminster every week - but when it comes to our hardworking farmers who work day in, day out to feed us all - the powers that be block them from holding a rally in Whitehall on the day the Chancellor is about

Felt like I was getting behind waiting for some form of black grass chit but some of the best autumn conditions I’ve drilled into , drills actually pulling up a slight bit of dust

Fodderbeet out and in getting it cultivated ready for wheat . Fodderbeet yields look depressing . Only upside is the beet come up well and clean and it’s giving the fastrac a chance to show what she’s made of - animal 👍🏻

9 years since we last had a fastrac on farm and they’ve come along way from our old 145 turbo . Let’s hope it’s more reliable than the red one it replaced @JCBagriculture

Not used to drilling in the autumn and having the nice problem of worrying about getting it rolled in behind the drill , going to have to burn some midnight oil - even when wheats worthless we still want to give it its full potential #brokenfoodsupply

Definitely a loser having not started drilling wheat until now on our heavy land farm , the kind bits are Lovley the heavy bits are cobbled but hopefully get it rolled before the rain that we could definitely do with . The mighty 6920 on drilling duties as always

Drill baby drill , plenty late for redclover with a long term lay being reseeded but as you can see it’s bloody dry - was originally going to plough it but with how dry it was I just powerharrowed it couple of inches now going through with the combi and looks a good seedbed

Sunday morning feed at the milk bar , really enjoying rearing calf’s and seeing them grow , apart from concentrate and milk powder and locally produced Stockfeed they are fed on all home grown feed and the Stockfeed only comes 10 miles from the farm #sustainablebeef #foodmiles
