The Lakers' drives stat is misleading in terms of correlation w/free throws IMO. They're 2nd in rim frequency + 5th in efficiency. Most of that rim pressure comes from face-ups/post-ups, mismatch hunting + flash cuts. There are many more ways than drives to create rim pressure.
