When your local paper’s editorial board either:.A) Doesn’t live in or understand Nebraska.Or .B) Doesn’t understand what the word “pragmatic” means.…unless as @AngieLauritsen put it, they think it means—
The World-Herald editorial board argues that the 2nd congressional district needs a pragmatic problem-solver like retiring Rep. Don Bacon.

This was one of the reasons we fought in Nebraska - lack of public $ and imbalance to private schools. Vouchers are a long walk off a short pier for public education - now the Big Beautiful Bill has federal programs ready to do the same. Let your lawmakers know, in every state.

We worked very hard and repealed Nebraska vouchers- now it’s snuck in at the federal level. Please Rep. Bacon & Sen. Fischer. We need them to know where Nebraska stands, as so many of us voted against this very thing in November:
The House version of OBBBA includes provisions of the ECCA, introduced by @RepAdrianSmith. It creates an almost three-fold greater incentive for giving to private school scholarship programs over other types of charitable giving. Learn more: @iteptweets

Note- Private schools are exempt. So a kid gets a voucher (paid for with public funds), that has never attended a private school (like 75%+ in every voucher state) - they don’t do the ASVAB, but public school kids are required.
Project 2025 includes requiring all students at federally funded high schools to complete the military’s entrance exam.

We’re on the precipice of this being a nationwide approach & places like NC or my home state of Iowa, private schools are the old man in the store with the fishing pole, dollar extended out of arms reach, teasing accessibility but just hoarding control.
NC made vouchers open to any family, then many private schools raised tuition #nced .
