Being different will always threaten the institution of understanding of a closed mind. However, evolution is built on difference, changing and the concept of thinking outside the box. Live to be your own unique brand, without apology.

It’s sad that, in softball, we claim growth mindset but when someone reaches out to help and grow the game they get resistance. Yet in baseball people are willing to learn and share. Apparently sharing a new viewpoint isn’t ok for some people.
Great Way To Build Strength In Our Catching Arm While Working On Receiving. Weighted Belly Catches. 2.2Lb Weight Ball Holds In Our Throwing Arm For An Extra 🔥
Just heard a softball college announcer said that a team shouldn’t be stealing when they are up 9-0…
Screw that. Don’t like the score then play better. Cruise control creates complacency.
This isn’t recreation Co-Ed league.
You play to win.
You play to dominate.
Just witnessed a parent scolded their kid cause she went 0-2 with 2 strikeouts in a game. He yelled at her that you don’t do that with college coaches watching.
Sir....
You’re a mess. It’s been 2+ months since these guys have played. Get a clue and grab a Snickers.
Yet coaches will justify why catchers should catch infield/outfield instead of having their time to get ready first pitch. Have I/O throw into a net for all I care. Figure it out. Give them 5/10 minutes. Create a plan. Be amazed what we can accomplish. Catchers deserve better.
Cool view of
@theknappyboy5
doing his pregame routine w/
@coachdrives
bout 30 min before game time. Weighted balls, barehand work, pocket work, some exchange/footwork & few blocks... dialed! Do you or your catcher have pregame routine? If not, you should.
#thelifeofacatcher
I’ve posted this a few times but I really love this. Really enforces that backside leg drive for when or if you must throw from your knees. The med ball really allows her to feel that stretch. Obviously easier to do on turf or dirt than grass
Been getting alot of positive feedback from alot coaches and parents about the calming receiving demeanor of the catchers I work with. Well when there’s a chance you are gonna have over 100 chances to catch the ball in the game we work at it rigorously in house. Keep calm
Softball Instruction has officially taken a step back...
Going on a rant saying people are stealing “your” drills yet you say you don’t want the credit. Get over yourself. Let’s be real... all drills are stolen 🤷♀️
K Thanks
Serve To Lead

And it begins... Throwing from the knees with one of my 10 year olds. Build the foundation and seek the feel from the ground up. Start light with a 1lb medicine ball and two hands.
The kid just wanted to Pulldown for her 11th birthday...
Whats the worst thing that could happen....
We had some choice words after she hit 63MPH with a 12 inch softball!!!! 😂😂😂 Thus why it was muted 😂
Again piggy backing off of
@collin_wilber
just adding some solo catching drill work to get you through the times.
2-Ball Wall Ball Transfers
Remember I also posted a 20 minute mobility routine yesterday on here. Probably gonna go back through and retweet other drills Ive posted
Love Me Some No Glove Tennis Ball Blocks. Great Opportunity 2 Work The Ball Off The Chest Protector “Catch The Ball W/ Your Belly Button” Rather Than Try 2 Field The Ball Like An IF. Also Allows The Catcher 2 Really Isolate The Lower Half And Help Avoid “Hopping” In The Kickback.
Age 11.
Throws harder than many adults. Especially the ones that like to talk the most. Will probably hit 68 in the next few weeks. Shortstops have trouble catching her. She doesn’t pump the brakes. Enjoys training. Eats a lot of fruit roll-ups. Be like Cassidy
I’ll take a catcher that goes 0-3 in a game if she’s...
Controlling the pitching staff
Checking the D
Controlling the 🏃♀️ game
Busting tail working the zone
+ blocking even w/no runner on
Leading her team
Being a good teammate in the dugout
Its more than just filling a stat sheet
Again Stop Having Catchers Catch 6/8 Games In A 2-Day Tournament. You Wouldn’t Do That To Ur Pitchers... What Makes Catchers Any Different?! Be Better Coaches. I Get We Are Work Horses And Rarely Speak Up But Eventually We Hit Our Limits Too. 1000+ Squats And Throws In 48 Hrs 🤷♀️
One of my favorite CS from this past season. Not an easy pitch to work with especially with a RHH.
Tight window along with a good load into the back leg. Alittle ⛽️ in the tank.
Chefs Kiss 💋 with the tag
I want to apologize to my girls for not working the J-Bands in sooner. Really beneficial to my two 8th graders working them in. Always adding to the toolbox.
Definitely caught me off guard tonight but I’m VERY honored to speak at CatcherCon. Thank you
@xanbarksdale
for thinking of me. Can’t wait to discuss our 🐺 mentality and cuture with the group. Excited to bring some forward thinking to the ⚾️ and 🥎 catching world.
HS coaches having players sign contracts that forbid them to work w/private coaches during the school season is a crock of shit. What that kid does outside of ur 2hr practice is really none of ur business especially catchers because I know they aren’t doing SHITTTT at practice
My heart has sunk....
If any college player has to come home to Tampa and needs a place to workout and train while under suspension or cancelation... I’ll will keep my doors open for them at no cost. Please have them text or DM me. Any position I don’t care.
In case anyone wanted to know more. Used the J-Bands as some assistance in the Wide Receiver transfer drills. Create the exchange lane and move efficiently. Used baseball off the hack attack but can see more efficiency using softballs. Beauty of thinking on the fly...
Put yourself in position to:
Win the Pitch
Save the Pitch
Keep the Pitch
Keeping secondaries in mind 😉 (block/throw)
Love the variety of options the Freshie Bulldog has back there. Mixes it up and has ALOT of confidence back there.
Find your flow. Be a badass
Down 30 pounds in 4 months. Lifts have never been better… my🩸work has improved significantly. My food choices have been so much better. Unfortunately my gym doesn’t have floor mirrors so a bathroom selfie will have to do.
Feelin’ dangerous… just in ⏰ for the travel season ✈️
Man some of y’all coaches are too much. Telling a parent of a 2024 that she’s behind in recruiting and needs to go out and buy a GoPro for her games. Use your phone. Enjoy your daughters game. Stop running with the Jones please. Good god. Can we please get better!
After 5 1/2 Years, Many Nights Crying In Frustration, Countless Dropped Classes, And A Few Moves Around The Country I Can Finally Say That I Have Submitted My Portfolio To Compete My Masters In Coaching/Athletic Administration At 10:12PM. I Literally Cried At My Desk...
Talk this weekend about knee down… it’s lazy, it’s for pitchers that don’t miss their spots, it’s for baseball, and etc
I present to you… the buttdown set-up.
Perfect for the pitcher that bowls, softball, less taxing on the knees and not as lazy as KD for catchers 😂
🚬🐸
Something we had really hammered this year was creating Flow in our throwing. Really gone into great detail over the last several workshops.
All of our throwing is dropped into 3 buckets: Flow/Power/Skill
Less robotic. More freedom. More 🌊
Have fun. Stay weird.
Shoutout to
@HipHipJose5
on his Gold and Platinum Glove
Here’s a couple of catcher movement flow exercises
Train global movement patterns that transfer to every athletic movement you have to perform in the game
Once you see it, you cannot unsee it

I’m noticing the trend with people that just keep it honest, provide good instruction/content, dont bullshit, and bring the energy everyday are the ones that are not only getting attention but are also thriving. 🤷♀️ Good people attract good people.
I could watch this kid throw alllll day… I mean I kindof have since she was 9 😂🤷♀️

@C_ott_7
I get parents wanna brag about their kid.... but when you say your kid has a 2.05 pop time I’m gonna pull out a stopwatch. I got 2.4/2.45 4 times 🙄 It’s 2018 (2019) guys... can’t bullshit a bullshitter. It’s like you’re saying you throw 96 and you pump mid 80poo in a game.
Gonna have some butthurt people but I say 2020 is the year we 🛑 doing rapid hopping blocks and call it a great blocking drill. Conditioning? 🐸🍵 Never seen a catcher in a game pile-drive their knees into the ground continuously 2 block 10 🥎 in 10 seconds. Quality over Quantity
Several Reasons Why I Love Belly-Up:
1. The Goal Is Not To Let The Ball Control The Catcher Thus The Glove Can’t Touch The Ground.
2. Great Way To Strength Up Basic Muscle Groups. Basically It’s Glorified Supermans.
3. Depth Perception and Focus
4. Challenging
Less than 10% go on to play college 🥎 Just because you pay for training, travel, showcases, teams, and etc you aren’t entitled to anything. What’s going to make you part of that exclusive club? Being a good person, student, and having the ability to shove when the lights are on.
Fast Hands And Fast Transfers Makes Better Pop Times. Guide/Redirect The Ball Into Your Throwing Hand Instead Of Grabbing The Ball From Your Glove. This One Takes Alittle Skill Because You’re Catching Another Ball As Well In The Process.
Overheard the pitching coach on the other side of the facility yelling at his catchers that knee down is lazy... Oh Yeah?!?!? Lazy catchers are just lazy people. Bet they are lazy players too. 🤷♀️ Right
@CarolineEPatte1
She’s a 2024. 😈😈😈
Almost 7 years of walking to the finish line but I finished. Finished 2 years ago but slowly paid off the tuition out of pocket. This was delivered today ☺️
Beautiful Thing About Having Your Own Place To Train... Constantly Finding New Ways To Train. Stumbled Upon This... Took The 7” Balls And Rolled Them Across HP... Some Would Bounce And Others Didn’t. Solid Hand/Eye Coordination And Focus Drill. Creating Calm Through Chaos
I’ve posted this a few times but when it comes to blocking this is probably one of my favorite 17 seconds of work to watch.
Limit advancement. Go to work.
The amount of catchers that are warming up pitchers on concrete or turf without a helmet is mind blowing. Just takes one… and 💥 you are probably out roughly a semester of JUCO tuition for your mouth 🤷♀️ Don’t be a dumbass… protect your face.
Most softball players have a major fear of recruiting FOMO so they play roughly 80% of the year. When they actually need to spend more time developing their skills than chasing the commitment rabbit because their skills aren’t up to par to be committed. 🐇
Catchers it’s not a badge of honor to catch 8 games in a 2 day tournament. Sadly the 🏆 hunting and arrogance of your coach has failed you. Now ur body has to deal with the consequences.
Well the other catcher isn’t as good... thats not ur problem. Carry a backup + emergency
Funny How Almost A Year Ago I Was Staring At A 875sq Unit Thinking How Am I Going To Do This... Today Is Day 1 In My New 2000sq Catchers Paradise. Bigger Space... Same Work Ethic
One of the kids told me Wednesday she wasn’t coming tonight. I was kindof perplexed like why. She goes last minute we wanted to go to Prom. I’ll be damned if I ever get mad at a kid for that. Her mom just posted a picture of her and her bf ☺️ Go make memories. The

The Ignorance Of Travel Ball Coaches
Benches A Kid Because He Called For A Hit N Run...She Hits A RBI Dub Off The Wall Instead Of A GB 2 2nd 2 Advance A Runner 2 3rd. Maybe That’s Why Ur Team On The USSSA Website Has U At 4-25 On Tourneys This Yr. Maybe It’s Not The Kids.🤷♀️
Happy Catchers Day to some of the baddest bottomfeeders out there.
May the day be filled with chucking gas and rippin’ balls

#NationalCatchersDay
Gotta ❤️ the week after CatcherCon because we test out some of the things we liked
@catchblockthrow
always coming in hot with combo work. So we went P/P w footwork/B/B and recover. Went 4 plates deep adding some reaction/tracking
@Burnie04Softbal
being the Guinea Pig 🐖
Catchers will always eat and get recognized last. However we will always lead first and continue to the relentless pursuit of craft and perfection every damn day. Count on it. Takes a special breed to catch.
So far some of the feedback…
Better plate awareness, game like spacing, and visual ques for stance and glove route. Girls are loving it. Sorry but a small product plug for
@xanbarksdale
. All bullpens need one of these. I could even see some positives with pitchers with it.
When pitchers request your catchers for games because they work the zone, expand the zone, stay quiet, and block well. It’s one of the biggest compliments you can have. It’s not for show if you continue to get the results you’re seeking 🤷♀️
One of the announcers was talking about pitchers bringing their pitches in abit more if they aren’t getting called in the close ones.
Pitches brought in more before crossing the plate then to get tattooed alot harder than pitches that never get swung at to being with. 🤷♀️
My thoughts on 2020. If you don’t like the language I frankly don’t care nor do I really care about your two cents. I’ve always spoken from the heart. Bring on 2021 because the 🍿 is ready
Now I remember why I don’t go to HS games… holy bleacher coaches 🤦♀️
We get it u would have intentionally walked that kid. Called a different pitch. Shifted the outfield differently. Hell put Gatorade in the cooler. We get it u coach 12u GOLD PLATINUM SILVER ELITE travel team 😂
