Deep neural networks perform well in object recognition, but do they perceive objects like humans?.We show that the classification performance of CNNs deteriorates with partial removal of the contours in incomplete polygons. For more details:

To future candidates, I suggest incorporating detailed mobility plans into your projects. This can be done relatively easily. Without this, your efforts in research, the quality of your work, and the intense labor involved in writing the project proposal might be in vain.

However, it appears that FWO places significant importance on having a concrete mobility plan outlined in the project proposal.

Overall, the main reason for the rejection was the lack of a mobility plan in my project. As an international researcher in Belgium, I am already engaged in developing international collaborations. Additionally, I mentioned potential mobility opportunities during my interview.

They provided me with detailed feedback, for which I am truly grateful. Although this feedback is confidential, I am pleased with the positive remarks on my researcher profile, my project, and the interdisciplinarity of my project, which was scored ‘excellent’.

I had a positive interview experience. However, at the end of May, I received the results indicating that my project was not accepted. I then waited for feedback from the FWO regarding my project and interview.

For those unfamiliar, the FWO is a prestigious grant opportunity in Belgium for academics to fund their research projects.
