I’ve seen too much on twitter about Andrew O’Keefe’s early celebration costing him a title and not enough on his incredible move that got him 2nd. Awesome race by he and Dylan. Andrew should be proud. 2nd in Illinois 1600 is doing something special!.

I’m more convinced after today that the workouts don’t matter. It’s ALL ABOUT CULTURE. Back in August on the first day of practice, we weren’t a state team. We weren’t even remotely good. We had 3 guys under 10:00 for 3k TT (that’s 10:40 3200 pace).

Just did a solo hard (wouldn’t say fast) 1600. Will do another before going back to school and track. I will run much faster. Great thing about distance running is that we can get better without being “at practice” or even “in season”. For that we are fortunate. #bestsport.

At Peoria today, we put 7 guys under 16 minutes. I believe this is only the 2nd group in DGS history to accomplish that (the 2018 squad did it a couple times).
