The event showcased some great work by @Ingeus_uk, including getting ex-offenders into employment, both with themselves and with other employers. Great to see those partners such as @TimpsonNews @GreggsOfficial, @TrnTrain and Unlock at the event.

An uplifting time yesterday at The Value of Lived Experience Event, run by @Ingeus_uk. Some truly brave & inspirational people shared their stories of turning their lives around, & I was delighted to hear the positive role of their probation officer in so many of those journeys.

We are supporting the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. During this period we are educating, promoting and sharing best practices on identifying domestic abuse and signposting help for staff who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse.

The vital work of @HMPPS staff keeps us all safe, which is why we have boosted pay significantly and launched our biggest ever recruitment campaign. New stats show its working, with thousands more prison and probation officers joining @HMPPS in the last year.

It was an honour to celebrate @hmpps staff today at @10downingstreet. I met colleagues from HMPPS HQ, Prisons, Probation & Youth Custody Services across England & Wales who help to break the cycle of reoffending, and ultimately protect the public. They never fail to inspire me.

Last week I was welcomed by @nwprobation to visit Haworth House Approved Premise (AP) & an Unpaid Work (UPW) Site in Blackburn. Fantastic to meet colleagues supporting AP residents to reintegrate in to the community & seeing the UPW groups efforts to maintain local green spaces.

An honour to co-host the @hmpps Staff Awards with @CEOHMPPS this week, recognising the hardworking, dedicated colleagues across Prisons, Probation and the YCS who go above & beyond to change lives & protect the public. Congratulations to all of our award winners and nominees.

Great to see HMP Fosse Way officially opened today. Marking a key milestone in our plans to build new prison places.   The prison also benefits from state-of-the-art workshops designed to train offenders for employment on release - a key factor in helping to reduce reoffending.

🌳Today is #WorldEnvironmentDay🌲 Offenders across HMPPS have been giving back to the community & learning new skills. 155,000 saplings have been grown, 16,270 trees have been planted by offenders on probation & 2,543 fruit trees planted in 21 prisons.
