Amazing study which reveals that Noctules actually prey upon passerines migrating at night 🤯
sciencenews.org
Sensor data reveal greater noctule bats chasing, catching and chewing on birds during high-altitude, nighttime hunts.

The Mersey #LeachsPetrel fest today; always tougher to connect upstream compared with the action in the river mouth; yet a Leach's, Kittiwake & 5 Com Scoter off the Brittania was a decent haul early PM; topped off with another Leach's at dusk from Otterspool prom @NMBiodiversity

Chuffed to find this colony of Ivy Bees today @Liverpool_CC. First discovered as 'new to science' in the Mediterranean in 1993 & not recorded in the UK until 2001...the northward march of the Ivy Bee continues apace! @NMBiodiversity l @BumblebeeTrust @Buzz_dont_tweet

Licenced #Dormouse surveys in #Denbighshire today. Looks like a good breeding season for them, with plenty found, including a female with an active litter bouncing about! Also the lovely Magpie Inkcap #fungi, the first time that I've seen this species, which isn't that common.

#LFC spent £415m and #EFC spent £112m in this transfer window while grassroots football in Liverpool is still waiting for the money in the video below from 2019 to materialize ? This £450k promised by both clubs would make a massive difference to grassroots football in this city
We have to say a huge thanks to @LFCFoundation and @EITC for their incredible contribution to be put into #grassrootsfootball in #Liverpool, providing opportunity for all to participate in the game we all love... @Everton @LFC @mayor_anderson #football

It's been a long time since I last saw Montagu's Harrier, so a lingering juvenile up on the Ribble at Marshside RSPB was too hard to resist this evening. @BirdGuides @NMBiodiversity
