The DC Courts were out in full force to support the 2025 DC Walk for Justice 5K. Chief Judge Milton Lee gaveled the start of the walk. The DC Courts had one of the largest teams, featuring judges, staff, and family members. The walk raised over $333K for civil legal aid in DC!

On Oct. 23, Judge Laura Crane participated in a conversation marking Purple Thursday -- an annual #DomesticViolenceAwareness day. The conversation, organized by Volunteer Legal Advocates, focused on the impact of pro bono emergency legal services for domestic violence survivors.

On Oct. 22, the city-wide Housing Right to Counsel Project hosted a special Pro Bono Week tour of the Landlord and Tenant Branch. Representatives from @LegalAidDC and @BreadfortheCity led the group on the tour of the high-volume branch where representation is greatly needed.

On October 29, Associate Judge Ross participated in a fireside chat at Ron Brown College Preparatory High School. The judge left the students thinking about how the court system needs them at all levels: court staff, lawyers, clerks, judges, and more.

DC Superior Court’s first annual Health and Wellness Fair was a raging success on October 8. Dozens of vendors filled the first floor of the Moultrie Courthouse, providing information AND resources to hundreds of our visitors throughout the day!
