Why consider a career in the fire service…👉Yesterday Buxton Station hosted retired Firefighters, with some careers spanning back to the 1960’s. Shared experiences and a common bond across generations. You can understand why we refer to it as the ‘firefighting family’.🧑🚒👨🏽🚒

Dropped into a development session for DFRS NILOs this morning. Some great discussion on specialist incident deployment and response. Worth remembering the importance of the planning and preparation that supports effective incident response.

This morning I noticed that all the young trees have been snapped in half at my local park 😕 It actually takes a considerable effort to snap even a slender trunk - imagine what we could achieve if we all put such effort into conserving our planet as oppose to wrecking it 🤔

21:41 Crews from @Kingswayfire attended a chimney on fire at a property on Lower Street, Doveridge. Crews used chimney rods to extinguish the fire. Advice was given to the occupiers. 🚒🔥

Fires such as these present some of the most challenging conditions firefighters face, often day after day for weeks. These are not glamorous incidents, offering little to look at but can be devastating to the local environment and economy. A big 👍 to all who helped put this out
After a long 7 days the fire at #RakesMoss is now out. This video below gives you an insight into the difficult terrain our firefighters had to work with. This operation took a massive effort from multiple crews across @DerbyshireFRS & @manchesterfire
