Inflation is at its lowest point in almost three years, falling to 2.3%. Our plan for our economy is working and the long-term outlook is bright.
Today is an important day for the economy, with inflation now back within normal range. The last few years have been difficult, but the IMF say the economy is approaching a soft landing - and our long term prospects are better than any other major European economy.

In 2022, the UK welcomed over 200,000 visits from Saudi Arabia. It was therefore great to meet @AhmedAlKhateeb and discuss even more tourism cooperation between the UK and Saudi Arabia.

Day 2 of #GREATFUTURES started with signing a brilliant agreement with H.E. Yousef Al Benyan that will raise vocational training standards across priority sectors through closer collaboration with the UK. This will support their continued transformation in line with Vision 2030.

Day 1 ended with me hearing about the work being done to connect UK and Saudi fintech companies. It is extremely encouraging to know that mature Saudi fintechs are establishing in the UK to benefit from London’s position as a leading international fintech hub.

It was also a pleasure to chair a meeting with him to identify financing solutions and support further growth for Saudi businesses. The UK is a leading global financial hub, and we are open to providing funding solutions to firms to meet their funding requirements.

We also signed an agreement to enhance collaboration between the Saudi Ministry of Investment and my department. This will accelerate strategic investments into both Kingdoms, and activate a fantastic 12 month #GREATFUTURES campaign which the summit has kicked off.
