The "free market" in bush meat is a risk to global health. Is it wise to leave these markets unregulated considering the human and financial cost of another pandemic? https://t.co/GFPohiUhN0

The average life expectancy for someone who is chronically homeless is 54 years old. Tragically, a few years of living in supportive housing doesn't appear to change that overall trajectory, though it does lead to fewer deaths from exposure. https://t.co/t2dZhmGGEh

2/2 If you use Roundup or a similar weedkiller, I urge you to reconsider. I’ve found that pulling weeds is not as much work as I thought it would be, and actually gives me a sense of accomplishment.

For years, we sprayed Roundup around our house to reduce the risk of wildfire. It turns out, we were increasing our risk of cancer. It’s active ingredient, glyphosphate, has been linked to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, for which my wife is now being treated.

I’ve measured and written about potentially avoidable hospitalizations and ER visits. Now in the care of a family member, I see how it can be helpful to use the ER and be admitted because everything gets taken care of at once versus waiting for weeks to get tests done.

This is Alejandra Chavez. Her mobile home park was purchased by a corporation that hoped to profit by raising rents, which would make it unaffordable for current residents. With support from our community, residents were able to buy the property. #SDOH https://t.co/LoAnwMysYI
