We'd echo that it is welcome that @scotgov has reached a budget deal with other parties which sees an increase in funding for alcohol and other drugs services However, questions remain on the extent to which this will address deficits in focus on alcohol harm
Good news that @scotgov has responded to criticism re alcohol and drugs services' budget but will this go far enough and be used to address @AuditScotland's recommendation to increase focus and funding on tackling alcohol harms?

Alcohol harms: Particularly bleak picture emerging in NE England. This should be a cautionary tale to commissioners considering cutting funding to high quality alcohol support services...
"Perhaps the most puzzling aspect of the rising numbers of deaths is that there is some evidence that alcohol consumption among heavier drinkers has fallen since the early phases of the pandemic. Yet deaths have continued to rise over the same period." https://t.co/Apu1aqAPRA

This #AlcoholAwarenessWeek we're debunking some myths around drinking. People often say that they have a drink at night to help them sleep, but it's scientifically proven that alcohol disrupts sleep and leaves us feeling more tired. Time for a change? Get in touch - 01389 731456

An estimated 1 in 4 people in #WestDunbartonshire are drinking at potentially harmful levels. It's not always obvious when someone is struggling, and many people drink at home, alone. If you, or someone you know needs help, give DACA a call - 01389 731456 #AlcoholAwarenessWeek

It's #alcoholawarenessweek. In #WestDunbartonshire, the monetary cost of alcohol harm is over £40M every year. The human cost is incalculable. Ask your #GeneralElection2024 candidates @MartinJDocherty @Labour_Douglas how they'll help reduce the harms of alcohol.
