IMPORTANT NOTICE
NINTENDO HAS JUST RELEASED AN UPDATE FOR MARIO KART 7, DO NOT UPDATE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP USING CTGP-7 UNTIL WE ADD COMPATIBILITY FOR IT!
CTGP-7 now runs at full speed on the Switch!
This is all possible thanks to the upcoming vulkan renderer implemented in

by gpucode/emufan4568. More details in the youtube video in the replies below.
Little late to the party. 3DS system update just released!
Do not update if you have not modded your 3DS yet, the currently used exploit BannerBomb3 has been patched!
All currently modded consoles are safe to update. There is no effect if already modded
For the first time ever, all the original characters in CTGP-7 have a replacement custom character. To celebrate this, post your personal CTGP-7 character roster in the replies!
Starting with CTGP-7 v1.4.40, you can play with other CTGP-7 users online on Citra! It's as easy as pressing the online multiplayer button, without any additional setup required (no need for a special build of Citra, just make sure to use the latest nightly update).

It's a bit early, but here's a sneak peek at the next tour in

! You can get the sense that some brilliant races are about to start with all the towering colorful pipes!
Heads up about the Citra situation:
Once it releases, CTGP-7 1.5 will NOT work on the last archived builds of Citra due to unimplemented functionality in the emulator. This was very bad timing as this functionality was being implemented, but got caught by the emulator shutdown.
Additionally, two existing tracks are having major updates!
SNES Donut Plains 1 has been replaced with RMX Donut Plains 1.
Miku's Birthday Spectacular has been replaced with Miku's Birthday Spectacular 2.
During the last few days, the CTGP-7

server has been victim of two raids from a spamming organization named "CTPK" (you can learn more about it in

latest youtube video). (1/4)

The Fake Item Box is coming as a custom item in CTGP-7 v1.3 among other item related changes! This new version is still in development and will release at some point this summer.
Auto-acceleration is coming to CTGP-7 in the next update! You will be able to enable the feature from the in-game menu and use A or Y (configurable) in a race to activate automatic acceleration (then you can use A, B or Y to deactivate it).
Paid DLC is coming to

8 Deluxe with 48 remastered courses from across the Mario Kart series!
The first wave of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass, containing eight courses, arrives on 18/03.
CTGP-7 v1.3: The Item Update has been released! This release was a bit unexpected, but you will now be able to use a custom item coming back from past Mario Kart games!
What did just happen... Anyways...
The Funky & Bones Update (v1.1.28) is out! Featuring Funky Kong and Dry Bones as new custom characters! (by BlueBlur and NGT respectively)
Don't miss out this great opportunity to get a special CTGP-7 icon for your switch! You can even use it as an entry point to hack your 3DS, although you probably won't need it as it's already very easy to do.
A hidden blue coin will be present on every track, find all of them and something will unlock!
(Blue coins spawn in singleplayer Grand Prix, Time Trials and VS modes. There is only a single coin per track. Both original tracks and custom tracks have them.)
The rules for it to happen are yet to be decided. So far:
- Only when going at certain speed.
- Only when driving straight.
- Small random chance of occurring, with the possibility to recover from it.
Should the feature be added in a future CTGP-7 version?
Also, due to the increased amount of hackers found in Nintendo Network (which makes the game practically unplayable) CTGP-7 Network also provides vanilla races and battles with other mod users with increased security and anti-cheat. (3/4)
This custom server, powered by
@PretendoNetwork
research, will be responsible for hosting CTWW races and countdown mode from now on, instead of relying on Nintendo Network. (2/4)
Also in the update is RMX Rainbow Road 1, which replaces Space Road in the Rainbow Cup. Space Road has been moved where DS Dokan Course used to be until it is replaced by another track.
CTGP-7 v1.0 was released 3 days ago. In this period of time, the mod was downloaded 1200 times and over 12000 update checks were performed.
From the CTGP-7 dev team thanks to everyone who played!
