It's with mixed emotions that today is my last day at SARDI @SA_PIRSA. Been an honour to serve the SA pulse industry for ~9 yrs in RD&E @CropWatchSA But I'm super excited to join @GRDC_NVT team at end July! I look forward to serving the grains industry in my new role 🌾🌱

⚠️IMPORTANT UPDATE⚠️ New research results show grey canola seed detected in the 2023 harvest is likely caused by weather damage. If discoloured seed is detected then source clean seed for sowing, or treat it before sowing. 👉 https://t.co/0PDxIXdAJ2 @Steve_Marcroft @UniMelb

Seeing some pink cereal heads in the paddock at this end of the season? This is likely opportunistic yeast growth from wet and humid conditions. These yeasts aren't pathogens and are acting similarly to field moulds growing on senesced plant tissue.

SA growers, please let me know if AB in lentil is being seen across our state. So far, seems reports are mostly restricted to the YP. @CropWatchSA Let me know via DM, phone, or email. TIA.

Severe Ascochyta causing stem breakages in Hallmark lentils at Beulah. Culturing to confirm. Stem breakages = yield loss from our experience in other crops. 4-5 node stage. Fungicides low risk solution here with more rain forecast.

How do we know what rust pathotypes are present in SA? Sydney Uni's Australian Cereal Rust Survey collects this data. SA 2022 Stripe rust results are still undergoing analysis, but based on varietal responses we are suspecting multiple pathotypes. https://t.co/l2eho0wWGN

Trying to decide if you need another spray this season for stripe rust? Give the Stripe Rust WM app a go, it will help calculate potential yield losses and the economics of fungicide application. https://t.co/RfbFdMzijr

Receiving many reports of Choc Spot (CS) on PBA Bendoc beans (rated S) Current weather = optimal disease conditions, infection can progress quickly @CropWatchSA Check fungicide registered for CS, label rates, rotate fungicide groups & apply ahead of rain.
