To the memory of Frank DiSalvo: he was the one who arranged for the 🇯🇵🇩🇪🇺🇸 nitride project in 1997, then funded by NEDO. We were so young! And it helped to catalyze the careers of many (!) young researchers from our groups & improve intl. cooperation, Frank's true legacy.

Heartbroken to hear about the passing of Frank DiSalvo. A stellar scientist, advocate for materials chemistry, and an irreplaceable friend. His legacy in #MaterialsScience and mentorship will live on.
I am deeply saddened, Frank DiSalvo has died. A superb scientist, a good friend, an excellent advisor - and he taught me how to fish. My heart goes out to his wife Barbara. The picture is 20 years old, Gordon Research Conference. 😢
