We welcome the news that at least 60% of the homes planned in England under the Affordable Housing Program will be for social rent. Social housing is essential to communities, giving everyone the chance of a safe, secure home & a better future. https://t.co/jUhomTcHFC

We applaud the power of disabled people, food banks and MPs, like Dr Marie Tidball, who have tirelessly used their voices to stand up for disabled people. 💚 Ahead of the final vote next week, we're encouraging MPs to ensure disabled people are protected from severe hardship.

Right now, MPs are considering whether to vote for cuts to disability benefits. 21% of people facing homelessness have a disability or long-term health condition. We've joined 86 charities calling for MPs to say no to cuts - they risk pushing people to poverty and homelessness.
❗️ Today, MPs will be voting on whether to make record cuts to support for disabled people who need it in the future. Disabled people are already overrepresented at food banks. We’re joining food banks, charities and hundreds of you to encourage MPs to say NO to the cuts.

We're all struggling to cope with the heat. But if you're trapped on the street, hot weather isn't just uncomfortable; it's dangerous. Staying safely hydrated & out of the sun is a challenge. Here are some ways you can help. Please RT to reach as many people as possible.

No-one should face homelessness period. But marginalised groups are disproportionately affected by homelessness. That injustice hardens our resolve to end homelessness for everyone for good.
🏳️🌈 This #PrideMonth, let's remember that nearly 1 in 5 LGBTQ+ people in the UK have experienced homelessness. For trans individuals, the rate rises to 25%. No one should face homelessness because of who they are. 👉 Learn more:

🚨 Today senior MPs from @CommonsHCLG have called on the Chancellor to deliver "a generational increase" in funding for social homes. We calculate that we have to deliver 90,000 social homes a year to end homelessness. Read their letter 👇 https://t.co/fLyl5fD4Wr

Rents are soaring, but housing benefits are being frozen once again – forcing people into poverty and towards homelessness. The UK Government must restore housing benefits to cover the true cost of rent. Join me and @crisis_uk and email your MP now. https://t.co/Z72ox6jUBb

We all need a safe, secure home to live a healthy life. But 5 million of us are now facing financial, health and housing insecurity. By investing in social homes at next week's spending review the Chancellor has an opportunity to break this cycle. https://t.co/wxX3vA1wdn

This Pride Month, we stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. Many LGBTQ+ individuals face unique challenges that increase their risk of homelessness, including discrimination, family rejection, and barriers to safe housing.

No one should have to have ‘sleep for dinner’. The UK government must urgently rethink planned cuts to support for disabled people And update Universal Credit so that it protects people from hunger and hardship.
