Now with Bruce Banman in the race for @Conservative_BC leader, chickenshit is going around. Anonymous twitter handles are the latest form

This story has nothing to do with DRIPA. Not mentioned by either the journalist or FN involved. It is about the terms of a contract. I think what you meant to say is a @Conservative_BC govt will strip First Nations of any rights.
And the hits just keep on coming. DRIPA must be repealed before our entire province’s economy is repealed.

Conquering ants for Brockman!
Well this kind of made my day. Deep in a City of #NorthVan staff report related to the 2026 election is a sample ballot populated by supporting characters from The Simpsons including some deep cuts and characters who never go by their full names. Bravo, @CityOfNorthVan

Q4 fundraising numbers are out! ✅Healthy numbers for the BC NDP 📉Greens get worst Q4 since 2019 despite new leader in place for full quarter 🤡Conservatives professionally incapacitated, missed the filing deadline

Can I ask how it is "standing with the victims" when you consistently create space for ugly voices and social media organs to deny the realities of Canada's residential schools? https://t.co/gEbH5ylbf4 and

Has Truth and Reconciliation become Truth or Reconciliation? That is the question at the core of a dispute that exploded onto the B.C. political scene over the last few weeks, leading to the firing...
Crime and extortion are out of control in British Columbia. Enough is enough. It’s time to deport foreign criminals. ✏️ Add your name if you agree: https://t.co/P4jTcFtEFv

Take out the name "Pauline Hanson" and put in that of any and all candidates for @Conservative_BC leadership and substitute "British Columbians" for "Australians" and we have a perfect synopsis of politics in BC today.

Well said!! All the @Conservative_BC candidates are doing covers of Rustad's greatest hits. Nothing like the original, though. I wonder how they will sound when accompanied by a dump truck full of chicken poop - a @BruceBanman specialty?
After the excitement of Rustad’s “professional incapacitation”, the BC Conservative leadership race has so far been a snooze that won’t build out the tent 😴 The only thing that could revive intrigue in this race is if John Rustad enters. They’re all parroting his ideas anyway.

Having tired of his role as anti-First Nations legal savant @HarmanBhanguBC now exposes the horrible pro-CCP cabal at Webster Awards and Queen Elizabeth II medals.
🧵1/5 A brief timeline of the public record may be useful for readers revisiting earlier reporting by @scoopercooper. Below is video from the B.C. Legislature showing a 2017 introduction of Ding Guo by David Eby, prior to the BC NDP forming government.👇🏽📹 #bcpoli

🧵 4/ Given his record this looks like the shameless overthrow of principle "in the blind pursuit of ambition" (to quote @AaronGunn
https://t.co/3WGIkvVL6I) and the fact that the loonies are now the gatekeepers to the @Conservative_BC leadership
It never ceases to amaze me how completely vapid and honourless some people are. How willingly principles are cast aside in the blind pursuit of ambition or the maliciousness of spite.

🧵 3/ Black expressed his "commitment" to the new relationship "founded on respect, recognition and reconciliation of Aboriginal rights and title" and as head of @BoardofTrade he pushed that reconciliation agenda

🧵 2/ That throne speech promised to "recognize constitutionally established Aboriginal rights and title… facilitate partnerships and prosperity through shared decision making and revenue sharing… enable meaningful government-to-government relations"

🧵1/ We know now the inmates have taken over the asylum in @Conservative_BC when @iainblackbc is pandering to the anti-First Nations crowd. As MLA he supported Gordon Campbell's "new relationship" and the 2009 throne speech that promised a Recognition and Reconciliation Act
Brenda Bailey is wrong. DRIPA didn't advance reconciliation — it created uncertainty and division. DRIPA — and Section 8.1 of the NDP’s Interpretation Act — replaced constitutional certainty with chaos. We'll repeal both, restore stability under Section 35 of Canada’s

🧵3/3 What seems "partisan" and "grandstanding" is to ignore all this, to ignore Young's plain language, and to join with the @Conservative_BC in baselessly making this about Eby. @Conservative_BC is running a campaign to stoke fear and intolerance about FNs. Fight that instead

🧵 2/2 All 8.1 of the Interpretation Act did was to ensure that BC would not waste tens of millions and years of delay in court battles to defend Acts that were at odds with the Constitution & precedent. For those who care deeply about BC, this was the right thing to do.

#bcpoli 🧵 1/1 How is this for non-partisan? At 2258 of the Cowichan decision, Young makes it plain that s. 8.1 of the Interpretation Act is not needed to overthrow ss. 23 and 25 of the LTA "as it is beyond the jurisdiction of the Legislature to extinguish Aboriginal title"
@CraigKeatingNV I have no interest in the partisan aspects of this issue. I care deeply about our province. What I am hoping is that cooler heads will prevail to ensure all the good work that was done over many years is not unravelled by partisan polarization and political grandstanding #bcpoli

#bcpoli @HarmanBhanguBC 's comment is classless and it is beneath @AJWVictoriaBC to endorse it. You two are so keen to portray a nefarious plot that you sully the leadership John showed at this time with the floods that devastated BC. Do better and show respect.
@HarmanBhanguBC I cannot speak for him but your question likely implies the answer l!

🧵 4/4 It is pretty clear they have no interest in amendment or building consensus but rather in taking us back to the kind of confrontational politics we saw under Campbell in the 1990s and 2000s. I don't think we should give cover to that

🧵 3/4 @Conservative_BC concern about the amendment has only been raised in the last few months as part of their attack on First Nations rights and title and of their campaign to sow anti-FN fear and intolerance.

🧵 2/4 If you don't accept what the courts have found, we have a different issue. As for closure, it was used after 6:00 pm on the final day of debate in a Legislative session whose schedule was agreed to by the opposition House Leader.
