Happy New Year, Bitcoiners! I’ve made a wallet with a little over 50,000 satoshis in it for whoever finds it in 2025. I made it using brainwalletdotio with a few lines from a text about a fantastic creature invented by J.R.R. Tolkien. Happy hunting! 🙏

Bitcoiners, when setting up a hardware wallet, be sure to do it in a completely secure location. You’ll have to sweep for cyber-mosquitoes and it’s probably best to be fully naked and at least 500 kilometers away from 🌎 as well.

Here's what Wall Street doesn't want you to know about DCAing: Buying Bitcoin on exchanges = premium + fees + counterparty risk Mining Bitcoin = below spot price + Wild Sats + you own a literal money printer Which sounds like the better deal to you?

FinCen and the Treasury are expanding the Patriot Act to attack bitcoin self-custody and privacy. We shouldn't live in a world where standards cater to the lowest common denominator and make things worse for the overwhelming majority of the population. https://t.co/kJvJcjRizG

“creating and using single-use wallets, addresses, or accounts, and sending [cryptocurrency] through such wallets, addresses, or accounts” The US government wants to criminalize the most basic privacy provision, in the Bitcoin whitepaper itself: not reusing addresses. Evil.

Happy 9/11 everyone! In the spirit of a country that has learned absolutely nothing from its 20+ year “War on Terror”(tm), the Treasury and Congress are actively working on legislation that would apply the PATRIOT Act to digital assets. This includes a blanket ban on any tools

While she has no idea how many BSA reports have led to arrests, reevaluating the BSA to improve efficiency is a "key objective for this administration".

When electricity was first introduced to American cities, newspapers filled with dire warnings. Politicians decried its dangers. Some towns even banned power lines, fearing catastrophe. The internet, too, was mocked as a passing fad useful for hobbyists, perhaps, but hardly

What’s your guilty pleasure that keeps you from stacking as many sats as you probably should? For me, it’s amazing handmade fishing lures, like these ones from Atlas Lures. (For the record, I only own one of these. Nevertheless, this is me admitting I have a problem. 😂)

Do you have the right to choose what software you install on your own device?
🚨 Google is tightening the screws on Android freedom! Starting next year, they're blocking sideloading of "unverified" apps which requires all developers to identify themselves to Google. Goal is global 2027 rollout. This is a blow to Android's open ecosystem and user choice 🧵
