Stretchy stretchy!. Morning Yoga for this young crake. Second brood will be hatched now and moving about. Only a few weeks to go but 2025 has been kind to our Crex.

Great to see a young corncrake like this!. Still some growing to do. This bird will be fully feathered in about 2 weeks and will then head off to West Africa (5000km). Let's hope it makes the journey and gets home to Ireland next April.

Great to see this young corncrake at one of our sites. At 25-30 days old it is only 2 weeks away from being fledged and will then depart for Africa. Female corncrakes are now on their second clutch and it's vital that they produce fledged young to sustain the population.

Just a few images from our amazing evening on Inis Bó finne in Co. Donegal. A chorus of 26 corncrakes and the local community welcomed the 60 visitors for our inaugural corncrake tour. Bhí sé iontach.

Some awesome images from one of our trail cameras. Corncrakes are notoriously shy birds so we are pretty sure this one was show-boating.😁. Early indications suggest an excellent year for the Irish population- great news in our last season as a project 🙏 . @NPWSIreland

With the support of @NPWSIreland.we have secured one of Irelands most important corncrake breeding sites in Co. Mayo. The entire 20 acre site is now managed in cooperation with our neighbors and is fortified with a predator control fence.
