Not directly analogous but we’re seeing with Utley HOF voting (29% then 40%) that a peak of 6-7 yrs may be enough. Wheeler would have to remain on this track for another 2. Just keeps reaching higher levels. The admiration/respect from players across MLB reminiscent to Halladay.

Would 8 be enough? Wasn’t for Johan Santana, who may be due reconsideration down the road. But again, SP were judged and used differently even 10-15 years ago than now. Wheeler, pushing for the CYA again, could very well go down as the best SP of the decade from 2020-30. (2/3).

Been wondering watching Zack Wheeler lately if this is what a Hall of Fame SP looks like now. Obviously not about win total anymore, may never again see 200. If he goes out like this after 2027, it’d be 8 dominant years to end a career + borderline historic playoff numbers. (1/3).

One of the best, a fixture in Philly sports for decades. There are so many folks behind-the-scenes responsible for making a broadcast hum and Sang was sure one of them, on top of just being a good man. RIP.
John DiSangro was so important to Temple that John Chaney’s longtime assistant said Chaney wouldn’t be in the Hall of Fame without DiSangro. He was just as vital every night to the Phillies telecasts. He had two great careers before dying this week.
