As a hiring manager, I want a balance of self-taught and several different degree field backgrounds together to make us stronger. Sometimes simpler solutions are better, and other times a deep understanding is more beneficial.
Are more and more tech companies not hiring self-taught programmers anymore? Getting a degree in CS shouldn’t be mandatory, just recommended

One thing that I always try to do with people in my community is to help with resumes. Many people have different stories, but the thing that proves hirability is being able to explain how all of your experience applies to one skill set.
