The drafting hasn't been good either, IMO. But you can also point to the lack of development of those picks, which is a coaching issue.

I also don't think the head coach should be given a free pass for the defense being awful regardless of whether he's an offensive coach or not.

They missed the playoffs each of the past two seasons and went 9-8 with a top five caliber QB and tons of weapons. I'm pretty sure a lot of fans in Cincy feel how I do. I'm just not impressed by Taylor at all.

The head coach fired their long time defensive coordinator, who is killing it in Indy. So he carries weight on that.

Cincinnati's ownership/front office gets a lot of ridicule and some of it is absolutely deserved. With that said, I look at that roster and feel like they should be a lot better than they are, even with Burrow out. There's more talent there than shown on the field defensively.

The Bengals, in theory, should have saved their season because Joe Flacco has played really well. That was a shrewd move by the front office. But it hasn't mattered because the defense just gave up... 39 points to the Jets. Hard not to point at head coach as a big problem.

The players have to execute, but this is a cumulative thing for me. I think they need a new voice running that team.
