Febreze was incredibly well regarded but no one wanted to buy it. until the marketing department came up with the idea of being "nose blind.". The idea that your home could smell without you knowing triggered an emotional response (fear, embarrassment) . and thus, demand.

"When your product (or service) is really good, it markets itself." . We get this a lot. And it's 100% wrong. For instance: . Toothpaste crashed and burned until someone decided that selling a fresh mouth required a fresh taste. and made it taste like mint. 🧡.
