We also had important information from a case in the Cologne Regional Court @LGKoeln where two former employees of the 24Option platform were convicted of commercial fraud.

Information about it we found first on Linkedin where people posted about their former jobs.

We uncovered some of the key people within this network. Also we found the company K. C. Firiakis which plays a crucial role within this network.

Public prosecutors in Switzerland have confirmed dozens of charges and proceedings in connection with these platforms. This network alone has led to losses in the millions in Switzerland. Some proceedings are being investigated internationally.

When we confronted a telephone consultant supervisor of Inefex, he began to threaten me. "You are a courageous man. Sometimes courage is rewarded. And sometimes there's courage and then something happens."

Platforms from this network are: Inefex, InvesaCapital, InvestMarkets, ForexTB, OBRInvest, Investous and 24Option. And there are probably more.

In our investigation for @SRF and @swissinfo_de, @fabokohler and I wanted to find out who was behind these rip-off investment platforms. Over several months, we uncovered a network based in Cyprus which has been ripping people off for years.

He lost 21,000 Swiss francs as a result. Others even lost over 100k. Many initially never really wanted to invest so much money.

Anyone who registers ends up on alleged investment platforms. There, manipulative salespeople urge you to invest over the phone. Initially, high profits are displayed. People invest more and more. Those who want to withdraw are usually put off and the investments plummet.

There's a malicious scam behind it: celebrities advertise websites where you can supposedly win a lot of money. But it's all fake - the interviews are faked, the pictures manipulated. The promise of easy, quick money: a trap.
