Looks like I'm writing yet another JWT implementation for rust. I'm continuously unsatisfied with the current ecosystem and how all token checks seem to allocate like 50 small strings for every single token 😞

And even if you don't need your own runtime, being able to speak the language is convenient. Not many people can say they read the tokio codebase regularly. I think that's a shame given how critical it is. We should all be regularly auditing it. But auditing such a system is hard

At @neondatabase we've have several complex async subsystems and even a partially runtime, written by @problame, to integrate tokio with io_uring, opinionated for our setup. While it's often niche to write your own runtime, it's always nice to know the toolset available to you

Oh hey. It's #eurorust24 workshop day 🥳 It's the first time I'm giving this workshop so I am nervous but excited to teach all about how async works under the hood in Rust. Hopefully this can become a recurring topic as it's a very interesting area that deserves more attention
