I cannot stress enough: it's so important to continue interviewing, even if you are comfortable in your role and don't plan on leaving Doesn't have to be crazy, take 2-3 interviews per quarter Keeping your interview muscle strong is critical especially in today's day and age

Today is one of my favorite days of the year: our end of year internal conference. This is my 4th one, and the talent and depth of people here continues to blow my mind I've attended talks from fellow Stripes who are also bookstore owners, sommeliers, and even the Mayor of a

I'm spending the day at Michigan State University judging computer science capstone projects The year-over-year growth of students who are using Vercel/Next.js in their projects is insane I would estimate ~600-700% growth

this is why systems at scale are fun what can be even more fun is scaling systems to this point and beyond! some of my favorite career moments have been growing services to 1B+ events per day, and often even to 100x that (100k+ events/requests per second)
I work on a system that processes 1B+/day events. Increasing latency even by 1ms per event degrades overall processing time by 277+ hours (11+ days). The scale is insane.

it's hard to diminish the value that AI tools can bring but far too many people are relying on it to avoid unavoidable work! you can't have it formulate your own thoughts for you, for example ideation and creativity isn't its strength either use it as a tool, not as a crutch
