The central plant is in the middle of downtown. The steam plume is a dominating feature of the city in the winter.
Starting with one of the best hilltop views in the city, Lake Avenue runs past several downtown landmarks, through Canal Park, and across the Lift Bridge to the sandy beaches of Park Point. Possibly the coolest street in Minnesota.
