Just writing up a piece about The Kursaal, the amazing old Southend United ground based in an amusement park. Having come across the photo, I just had to share it! It shows the park and ground in 1930, with the sea just to the right. Southend played here from 1919-1934.

If I may disagree on a technicality, the Kursaal *is* Southend! I remember it well, as a youth spending my time in the town and especially the seafront enjoying all that Southend had, and still has to offer. Nowhere feels like Southend, which is why it is so popular with so many.
